Your employees are watching you.
Are you behaving in ways that are consistent with the changes you are pushing throughout the corporation? Do your memos reinforce those changes? Do you host meetings to reinforce those changes? Provide various means for employees to know the corporate progress being made in its quest toward those goals? Are you holding yourself as accountable to adapting to the changes as you are your employees? Do you have a scorecard for yourself that you publish to the employee base at large? If an employee were to walk into your office, are charts, books, file folders, or anything else pertaining the change clearly visible?
Bottom line, are you really walking the talk?
Everything you do, say, or show, including in your office and meeting rooms around the company, must reinforce SYMBOLICALLY your commitment to the new changes.
When making major changes, SYMBOLS matter.
